Built to Last: How MBP Turned a Big Company Moment into Evergreen Culture Content

MBP wanted to make a splash with its new 10-year vision at the Annual Business Meeting—without creating one-and-done event content. Together, we turned employee and leadership stories into a memorable on-stage moment and evergreen content to fuel hiring all year long.

Company

MBP helps clients navigate complex construction projects with confidence.

MBP is a construction management and consulting firm supporting complex building and infrastructure projects.

But behind every project is a people-driven culture built for the long term. From emerging leaders to employees who have built decades-long careers with the company, MBP’s people share a strong sense of connection—to their work, their colleagues, and where the organization is headed next.

Challenge

Make one storytelling investment deliver both big-event impact and long-term value.

MBP’s 400-person Annual Business Meeting (ABM) would be the stage for an important moment: unveiling a new 10-year vision for the company’s future. Ahead of the event, MBP wanted to create content that would build excitement around the vision and make its debut feel meaningful, memorable, and true to their culture.

But they also wanted the investment to work harder. Alongside the timely vision content created specifically for the meeting, MBP saw an opportunity to capture evergreen employee stories that could live well beyond it—fueling recruitment marketing, social media, and the careers site throughout the year.

Having worked with Stories Inc. for previous storytelling initiatives, they knew who to call to bring this vision to life.

Solution

One strategic shoot. Two audiences. A year’s worth of storytelling possibilities.

Stories Inc. interviewed six MBP storytellers in Vienna, Virginia, combining employee interviews with active job-site footage from a Stafford County Public Schools project.

To integrate the ABM’s “Postcard” theme, we asked leaders to share their wishes for MBP’s future by physically writing them on stationary—creating intimate, visually compelling moments without making the content feel tied to a single event.

We paired these moments with a behind-the-scenes interview style: one camera focused directly on the storyteller, while another pulled back to reveal the equipment and crew. The result was polished storytelling that still felt transparent, authentic, and unmistakably human.

Results

Content built for the big screen—and designed to keep working long after it.

From one filming day, Stories Inc. created a 2–3 minute “Wish for MBP” leadership vision video and eight additional videos supporting MBP’s greater culture and hiring objectives: MBP’s North Star vision, Entry-Level Integration Program, employee tenure and legacy and new-hire experience, to name a few.

The interviews were so heartfelt, we created a bonus culture video featuring John’s story of how the team rallied around a new colleague during a difficult time.

We created stage-ready versions for the ABM alongside evergreen edits free from event-specific branding. Horizontal and vertical formats extended their usefulness across the careers site, web, and social.

Behind-the-scenes content, social compilations, and individual leader spotlights stretched the footage even further—turning a storytelling investment in one 400-person meeting into a flexible library of recruitment marketing content MBP can activate throughout the year.

“Stories is a pleasure to work with. From the quality of their work to the people involved in planning, interviewing, editing, etc. it’s a wonderful experience all around.”
