Sodexo
Activating an EVP Using Employee Stories
When Sodexo needed to activate their Employee Value Proposition, they turned to Stories Inc. With a suite of employee story videos and photo library, Sodexo brought their EVP to life for candidates and team members.
Company
Sodexo is a food services and facilities management company. Since 1966, they have believed in creating a better day for everyone, to build a better life for all.
Sodexo is the global leader in sustainable food and valued experiences, delivering services in workplaces, learning environments, healthcare facilities, and entertainment venues.
Sodexo serves 80 million consumers in 45 countries, employing more than 430,000 team members worldwide. In the United States, there are 100,000+ associates across more than 4,800 sites. Food services, dieticians, and facilities management are just a few of their job categories.
Challenge
Bringing the Sodexo EVP to life in a scalable way.
After gathering insights from over 7,000 global employees, Sodexo launched their global Employee Value Proposition: We create a better everyday for everyone to build a better life for all. The EVP is grounded in three brand pillars: BELONG to a team, ACT with purpose, and THRIVE in your own way.
This global EVP was then activated at a regional and national level. The Sodexo U.S. Talent Experience team worked hard to embed the EVP at every stage of the talent experience, from interviews to onboarding to manager 1:1s. Learn more about their internal activation strategy in this webinar with Sodexo’s U.S. Director of Talent Experience, Jamia Belton.
While their U.S. EVP activation strategy was moving the needle, it was missing scalability. They needed to bring their EVP to life in a big way, that would be easy to share with candidates and team members time and time again. Enter Stories Inc.
Solution
Grounding the EVP in employee stories.
Sodexo partnered with Stories to capture photos and uncover stories from team members that would highlight the EVP’s existence within their employee experiences.
Two filming and photography days were strategically selected to create a balanced representation of job categories and work environments: one filming day was at a university, and the second in a healthcare environment that included both general managers and frontline workers.
“I chose to work with Stories Inc. again because they have the natural ability to uncover these compelling stories that will resonate with everyone. Plus, they’re so wonderful to work with!”
