Company

Eleven Peppers Studios is a visual communications studio that delivers smart and beautiful design solutions to its clients.

Eleven Peppers Studios (fondly known as 11p) is a dedicated group of award-winning, dynamic, and professional creatives with a passion for helping organizations achieve their goals through design. Their culture is what sets them apart. Founded by a husband and wife team in 2012, the Maryland-based company has grown to 50 team members, each with a specific role to play to ensure 11p meets and exceeds industry standards and wows their clients.
Challenge

Creating company culture videos that *actually* capture the special culture at 11p, not sound like corporate jargon.

As the creative agency crossed the 40-employee threshold and moved into a newly designed office, husband-and-wife co-founders Bryan and Kristen needed to find a way to bring their culture to life to candidates in a scalable way. Like many small businesses, few candidates had ever heard of Eleven Peppers Studios or knew what it was like to work there.
Their concern? The Pepper Culture being lost in translation. Kristen and Bryan wanted company culture videos that would actually reflect the special culture they had created, not sound like every other workplace.
Solution

Employee stories that show, not just tell, the special culture at 11p.

Stories Inc.’s facilitated interview approach was a perfect match for Eleven Peppers Studios’ desire for authentic culture content. Twelve storytellers, including co-founders Kristen and Bryan, would be interviewed over two days of in-person filming. The interviews would be complemented by in-person b-roll and photos from over the years submitted by Peppers.
We went into the interviews with three key focus areas: the company’s history, the people-first culture, and the career growth opportunities that exist within the small business.

Results

Eight videos that capture the authentic culture at 11p.

The 11p and Stories partnership produced eight company culture videos, including:

  • One video highlighting the history of the company and the story behind 11p’s unique name
  • Four videos highlighting their people-first culture: Culture Overview, Working Parents, the company’s iconic anniversary trip to Disney World, and an employee spotlight.
  • Two videos highlighting career growth, a topic that is especially important to candidates who may be concerned about the ability to grow within a small company.

The videos were featured on Eleven Peppers Studios’ career site and featured on their social channels to help candidates learn about working at the company.
